The Positivity Wave

Happy Sunday #ThePositivityWave 75

Welcome to today’s Happy Friday! My remedy against feeling down is to make a list of all the good things in my life. It can be anything. Really, anything. The smallest gesture from a stranger can change your day, if you open your eyes. Now, I am a pessimistic and I need daily reminders to look for the bright side. Maybe you are too, or maybe the state of our world is weighing on you. In any case, here’s your shot at some happy things!

  • Scented candles can really make a difference in a room, and on your mood. I’m addicted to Spiced Orange from Pick’n’Melt, despite it being all Christmassy!
  • NetGalleyNovember2020… Going … well? I’ve read two books, which is more than the week before! I’ll be spending part of my afternoon writing the reviews.
  • Dog training. I’ve had issues with my babes, so we’re relearning to connect and fight their anxiety, it feels good to have those moments every day where I just stop, grab a few treats, and solely focus on them and how to make them feel better.
  • A new Fitbit with new challenges. I’m taking it for a run later today!
  • Bookstagram fun! So, this happened… It was scary, fun, and even though I’m not so satisfied with how I was during the event, I still had a good time. PS, grab Black River, it’s a terrific book!
  • The best nap in a long time. One Saturday afternoon, two doggies, silence, a big couch, and that’s it. Heaven.
  • Okay, let’s address the elephant in the room. I do not talk politics online because… Well, because, but I’m going to make an exception here. Thank God for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris! Here’s a pic of me when I heard the news! (I began dancing in the street and the dogs were confused)
  • Learning new things. I’ll never tire of feeding my brain with information and new skills. It feels so good to gain more knowledge, and confidence.
  • Good news from friends. I am all for lifting each other up instead of bringing everyone else down to get to the top, so when I get fab news from a friend, I celebrate with them. Happiness is made of this.
  • Burger King drive-thru is the best remedy to a long day. Or two. Who’s counting???

I hope you’re all safe and enjoying the little joys of life. Remember to be kind, and have fun!

Meggy xx

  1. Oh I missed your Insta live. I’m sure you were fab. I would have been so nervous.
I hope your dogs feel better, so nice to have treats and connecting times with your besties.
Ooh it’s been a long time since I had a burger king. I look forward to the day when I get my next one. For now my local Chinese is a lot of moments of happiness.
I love scented candles too. I found a bargain of 4 Yankee candles for £5 last week which brought me moments of calm and happiness. They are especially good to burn while reading.
And Yes! To Biden but I do worry about what the Trump supporters may do.
This morning I saw the cenataph ceremony and I am happy that despite covid we are able to remember our heroes.
I hope your week is a good one Meggy

  2. I wondered if I’d missed your post, I’m very pleased to see that I hadn’t! Love the sound of your candle! I love the frankincense and myrrh ones that M&S used to sell, I must remember to look for one soon as it’s the smell of Christmas for us. Such good news about Biden and Harris, what a huge relief! Happy Sunday lovely Meggy xxx

  3. Oh, Meggy, there’s NOTHING like a good nap! I love the feeling when I awaken from one.

I am 100% certain your Bookstagram event went extremely well because, well, you’re you💜

I don’t discuss politics normally either but my joy is immense at the outcome of our US election. I yelled at 11:34 am EST at the moment it was announced. Feel like I can breathe again.

    Stay lovely, Meggy🥰🥰🥰

  4. As always we have so much to be thankful for, and so happy to hear you and the pups get to stay safe and sane together. And love myself long Saturday afternoon naps on the couch too. Especially with a book at my side. Have a great week, Sweetie! 😘

  5. I love your dancing in the street with two dogs in tow! No wonder they were confused 😁 I didn’t dance, but I share your sentiment. And definitely lift up instead of bring down – you would want others to do the same for you!

  6. What a great week Meggy. I love dancing in the streets. I was quite happy as well. I am glad you are getting to do more with your new job. Keep smiling.
