Book Reviews

Happy Saturday! #ThePositivityWave 63

Welcome to todayโ€™s Happy Friday! My remedy against feeling down is to make a list of all the good things in my life. It can be anything. Really, anything. The smallest gesture from a stranger can change your day, if you open your eyes. Now, I am a pessimistic and I need daily reminders to look for the bright side. Maybe you are too, or maybe the state of our world is weighing on you. In any case, hereโ€™s your shot at some happy things!

  • I am trying to find tricks to get my weekly runs done. It’s not easy when the sun tries to kill you, but hey, I sometimes win!
  • I can’t get through the day without the “Have a great day” playlist on Spotify. It’s on when I’m working, when I’m cleaning, when I’m cooking… I’m a sad songs lover but there are too many sad things around at the moment!
  • Shaking things up with my reviews! I don’t do it for every book but when I feel the pressure of reviewing becoming too much, I breathe and usually find a way to remind myself how it is FUN to write about books. My latest victim is the review of The Minders by John Marrs ๐Ÿคฃ
  • Second trip out to bookshops! I miss my London places, though. Books in French don’t interest me. Still, it’s nice to spot authors I love!
  • I won the dogfie self of the week!!!! Look at Yรปki, she’s the cutest!!!!!
  • Work is more fun with your best friend next to you
  • Keeping your nail polish safe for more than two days. Yes, it’s that important! It takes me forever to apply it correctly!
  • Finding ways to enjoy adulting. I swear it can happen!

That’s it for this week! Stay safe, enjoy the little things, and share the kindness!

  2. I love your double yawn selfies. That must have been a lucky snap to get it in time. I never used to like dogs much. ( I was scared of them as a child), but the more I see of you and yours the more I want one for myself in the future. Maybe a cat too. I am a cat person. ๐Ÿ˜Š

My waves include a wonderful surprise of being accepted by netgalley a month after I requested Fifty Fifty. So looking forward to reading it.
As it’s Saturday, I’m adding on a happy moment from today. A trip to the bakers to get cakes๐Ÿ˜‹. A millionaire donut and a rhubarb tart. Yum.
I finished another fantastic book- Queen Bee. I think you loved it too. This book gave me lots of happy moments.
And of course I must add that I got compliments and smiles on my new Winnie the Pooh face covering. ๐Ÿ˜ท
    Happy Saturday Meggy.

    1. I have no idea how I managed to capture the moment!!! Aw, this is so wonderful. I can’t imagine my life without my companions. They’re amazing and loving them is so easy!

Ohhh I need to know what you think of Fifty-Fifty!!! I’m glad you got approved!
Cake! That reminds me I need to bake a new one, I finished the last this morning.
I adored Queen Bee, so yay for you loving it too! Isn’t it a brilliant read? Jane Fallon writes exquisite characters.

  3. Where even are you right now???? What Iโ€™ve been doing is looking at temperatures and going for a run when itโ€™s earlier. Will probably be doing that tomorrow and Iโ€™m thinking of changing up my route and seeing where it takes me. Although these longer runs Iโ€™m now getting home desperate to pee.
