Happy Friday! #ThePositivityWave 58

Welcome to today’s Happy Friday! My remedy against feeling down is to make a list of all the good things in my life. It can be anything. Really, anything. The smallest gesture from a stranger can change your day, if you open your eyes. Now, I am a pessimistic and I need daily reminders to look for the bright side. Maybe you are too, or maybe the state of our world is weighing on you. In any case, here’s your shot at some happy things!

  • Yûki turned 9 last Saturday! We took our masks and the car, and we drove to the closest pet shop! New leashes, new toys, a new ‘clever toy’ that both dogs have already mastered… Yep, we spoiled them! And I use the plural because on their birthday, both dogs get the same birthday party and presents!
  • I fell in love with a nail polish. Well, I like the brand, they’re animal-cruelty free, etc, but that color… It is me! I need it! I am so adding it to my birthday wish list! And it’s called “happy”! I mean, what else do you need???????
  • I get so immersed in work that my anxiety can’t get the better of me.
  • The Jo Spain said she loved me. Period. 😂
  • I got to take my first tea out at the terrace of a café in my favorite part of Bordeaux. Baby steps, I only took the mask off for the pic (and to drink!) but gosh it felt good. The weather was perfect, not too cold, not too hot, and I was just in the moment. It’s difficult to relax again when being outside, so big victory! (friends couldn’t get close to be in the pic! 😦 Next time!)
  • I was given the go-ahead to restart the couch to 5K challenge! Part of me is disappointed I had to stop at week 7 because of the virus and my lungs on fire, but hey, I did it once, I can do it again, and enjoy it even more! So next Monday, I’m back at the beginning, with my beloved sneakers.
  • Spotted a new book box in Bordeaux! People even added hats because the weather is hitting hard on the head!
  • I haven’t had time to read a lot but I’ve been engrossed in a novel and each chapter has been wow! I can’t get enough of that feeling!
  • Old movies!
  • Not a lot of blogging has been going on, but I’m still adjusting to everything that’s happening and… It is okay. It’s nice to be at peace with your choices 😊

That’s it for this week! Take care, enjoy the little moments, and share the love!

  1. Yellow is so my colour too! I think the couch to 5k challenge might seem easier this time, with muscle memory. I’m glad you can get back to it.
Happy Doggy Birthday, how nice to celebrate with them both. Double birthdays 😊.
Well done on getting out and getting your terrace tea. I can totally relate to the outdoor anxiety. For me it will be small steps.
    My happy waves include:
I’m finally starting to enjoy my morning exercise and feeling fitter.
I finally finished my thick book and loved the ending.
    Always cake and tea 😁.
Broadchurch is back on. It’s season 1 which I haven’t seen yet. I only saw season 2. I haven’t watched any of it yet, I’m saving up so I have a few episodes to binge on. 😁

    1. I learned that yellow was my color when I was under hypnosis three years ago, and since then, I feel so much better when I see the color ❤
It's definitely easier to run now and it makes me very happy. It's a revenge against the P.E teachers who made me hate running.
I had no idea I would manage to stay at the terrace; the beginning was hard, but I stayed, and I got a lovely reward as I enjoyed a nice moment.
I am so happy you're finally starting to enjoy the exercise!! Go you!
Cake, tea, book, I love all that!
Oooooh Broadchurch! Season 1 is even BETTER than season 2, even though you already know the end :p xxx

  2. I love that shade of yellow too! I’ve got a cardigan in that shade and I would live in it if I could, it makes me happy. 🙂 How lovely to get out to a cafe and to see friends, it must have been amazing. I love living vicariously though others at the moment as I’m still shielding. Although I do enjoy sitting out in the garden when the sun is out, it makes such a difference to get fresh air.

  3. Happy Birthday Yûki and yes, they both deserved to be spoilt after all, they spoil you with their love. And if they’re getting presents, it’s only fair you get something too, right? And what’s better than pampering yourself to nail polish AND tea out? You’re brave, Sweetie.

I so wish I had the nerve to go out and sit somewhere too, and drink a lovely latte. Maybe next month. Oh, and yes, old movies and TV shows have been our staple diet for the last couple of months too.

Take care of you, and big hugs to the dogs. ❤️ xxx

    1. Thank you so much for your fabulously sweet comment ❤️ I love spoiling the babies, and they are not complaining, haha!
The time will come and you will do it at your own pace 🙂 it was big to go out and actually stay outside!
Stay safe! Sending you loads of positivity and hugs! xxx

  4. Ohhh that nail polish is gorgeous! Matches the jacket in the other photo too which I also love. I hope the weekend will treat you well! ❤ xx

  5. Good luck with the challenge Meggy. I have always kept to the safe Red in nail paints… Somehow makes me feel good. I rarely wear cosmetics or nail paints. Glad you wear masks
Here Most have stopped wearing and innocents are getting infected.

My parents are under the weather, that has been stressful. With crisis, can’t take them to docs at the moment. Overall it has been a down kinda week. But I have been reading. So that would be an upper

    1. Thank you! It’s easier to run the second time around 😀
I love red nails 🙂 So chic!
I won’t stop wearing masks, I don’t feel safe and I hate how people think all is back to normal.
I am so sorry to hear your parents are unwell. I am sending your family all my love xxx

  6. I love that book box, hats and books, awesome. I have glad you were comfortable getting out and meeting with friends, even from a distance. I love that your new nail polish is the same colour as your beautiful sweater. Happy Birthday to you doggo and good luck with restarting the Couch to 5K. I am happy that you are at peace with what is going on in your life right now. Enjoy the rest of the week Meggy.
