Welcome to today’s Happy Friday! My remedy against feeling down is to make a list of all the good things in my life. It can be anything. Really, anything. The smallest gesture from a stranger can change your day, if you open your eyes. Now, I am a pessimistic and I need daily reminders to look for the bright side. Maybe you are too, or maybe the state of our world is weighing on you. In any case, here’s your shot at some happy things!
- Having a books bodyguard. Yûki now sleeps near the bookcases every night. What a cutie.
- As part of my anti-agoraphobia/anxiety program, I have a list of statement to repeat like mantras, and this week I decided to change them a little, and put them on the wall. I’ve been feeling quite anxious because of Brexit and a million other things, so it’s time for a new dose of positive affirmations to help.
- Getting the dogs groomed! They are so happy without the fur!!! (Iris on the left, Yûki on the right!)
- Watching The Incredibles for the hundredth time.
- Winning a book!
- Choosing my outfit according to the dogs 🤣 Team Grey/Black/Pink with Yûki watching loosely towards the camera!
- The biggest thing that happened this week is … me knitting! I received my yarn and needles last Friday, and began right away. One week in and I’m addicted. I don’t know much yet but I am happy to know my hands can do more than apply nail polish and type on a keyboard! Also, it’s super satisfying to create something and see it appear in front of your eyes. My darling Kate @TheQuietKnitterer is the best to help me untangle the knots of my new hobby! (Expect weekly knitting pics. Maybe lots of them…)
- Getting a basket for my knitting stuff!!
- Rocking my jean button-down!
- Drinking LOADS of fruit juice. I’m gonna turn into a fruit, I think.
- Finding a heart-shaped potato… Makes cooking better!
- My Whatsapp daily bubbles. I’m thankful for the messages that brighten my day ❤️

You are an inspiration my darling Meggy! I am so proud of you and how well you are doing, you’ll be knitting better than me soon!
Rather jealous of your knitting basket, love the idea of a wee basket, I will have to hunt around the shops to find one now! xxxx

Aw you! I owe you my new addiction and so much more (the swearing today cos I couldn’t understand how to purl!! I think the big chunky yarn isn’t helping!!!) I only wish to be half as good as you one day ❤
I am in love with this basket, I admit it! xxx

Your Meggy and doggy selfie is so cute, I love it. And wow for your knitting. A friend tried to teach me once but I couldn’t get the hang of it. Yours looks like it is coming along great. There are so many things to make if you can knit confidently. Keep up the good work. My friend made me slippers, a bag and a hot water bottle cover. She is awesome.
After a tough week I am glad to look for any happy moments I found to remember the good bits of my week.
A hug from my favourite boy with me thinking, ‘ it’s me and you against the horrible colleagues boy”. 💟 and me imagining him.thinking ‘ I’m so glad you’re here, those other assistants are mean, look after me” 😉. But a hug after a hard day makes it worth it.
Knowing I have 2 episodes of Suits to watch in the morning. 😀
Managing to get a really early night. Cuddling up in bed at 9pm knowing I can sleep for 10 hours if I want to .
Chocolate, always chocolate 💟
Hope your weekend is a good one. Xxx

It’s awfully difficult to take pics with the dogs!
Thank you 🙈 I am very surprised I picked up knitting so quickly, although it’s just the beginning and there are lots to learn. I just love being able to do something nice with my hands. I have an idea for your Christmas gift… 🙂
Hugs are so important. I miss hugging people!!
I hope you’ve enjoyed Suits! I think I’m in denial, that’s why I don’t watch the final eps!!!
I wish I could go back to early nights, but it’s not on the menu for now.
Have a lovely relaxing weekend xxx

My heartbreak was killing me slowly since a few months. I am not sure if I have hope and dreams but at least I am not crying myself to sleep every night.
And I had stopped listening to music but heard a song just for the pleasure of it. I am thankful that a part of me is still there. Waiting for the whole of me to come back

Aw, thank you! I still can't believe I understood how knitting works xD Well, I just failed at trying to purl, but hey, I am blaming the chunky yarn!!!

She is!! ❤ And you are so much better at knitting as I am… I tried to learn it a couple of times in the past, but never made it past the wonky scarf. xD I don't think I ever tried to purl either, so you already win for just doing so. 😉 ❤

I don’t know how I missed this Friday😬😬😬😬 I have Book Club on Friday mornings and then met a friend for an extended lunch. Threw my entire schedule off for the day.
You’re looking fabulous and I love the pics of your babies💜 I used to cross stitch for a little bit and recall how calming it was. I’m confident your going to love your knitting!
Fantastic week, Meggy💕

Oww she knows it’s your favorite place so now it’s her favorite place too, how cute! Oh I love the thickness of that yarn.. you could maybe make a pet coat for Yûki and Iris (nobody needs to feel jealous), although that seems awfully difficult. Be careful going on Pinterest, who knows what great ideas are lurking there! Wonderful happiness as always lovely!
