Happy Friday! #ThePositivityWave 14

Welcome to today’s Happy Friday! My remedy against feeling down is to make a list of all the good things in my life. It can be anything. Really, anything. The smallest gesture from a stranger can change your day, if you open your eyes. Now, I am a pessimistic and I need daily reminders to look for the bright side. Maybe you are too, or maybe the state of our world is weighing on you. In any case, here’s your shot at some happy things!

The POsitivity wave without c`

  • Reading my favorite book of the year. I know it’s only June, but I am sure this book will stay number 1!
  • Reaching 30 minutes out with the dogs under a stupidly hot sun!
  • The sound of the rain on my windows when I’m working.

  • Quality time with my mother watching Me Before You. If the book didn’t do anything for me, the movie gets me every time.
  • The delivery guy making sure I get my book mail. He’s the sweetest!
  • Resuming my English practice. I’ve been having issues with it as I feel the progress I’d made before have disappeared and I sound way too French. But it won’t change unless I get back to work at least an hour per day! So this week, I’ve been studying how to pronounce (and have fun) with all 50 states and capitals of the USA. Gotta love Rachel’s videos!
  • Grocery shopping with Iris. She makes everything funnier ❤️

  • The opportunity to gain even more work experience.
  • The weekly selfie! If you can’t be in the UK, bring the UK with you wherever you are!

  • Having the time to read six books in a week. Six? FIRST TIME EVER!
  • Helping a neighbor who got his car broken into and his stuff and spare tyre stolen. Seriously, guys, I don’t understand why we have so many idiot and selfish people around.
  • Frozen 2’s trailer! I’ve been singing Let It Go again… Yep.
  • Baking. I tried to take pictures, but the cake disappeared really fast, haha!
  • The chance to stay home and take care of myself.

  1. Thanks for sharing some good things! What has made me happy is chatting to great friends who really get me and getting back into a sport I practised long ago.

  2. I’ve just finished a night shift, so in my head it’s still Thursday. But this morning one of the residents I was helping get dressed told me she loved me so much because I always make her laugh! Well that definitely made my morning 😁

  3. Love your positivity! We often forget the little things and focus on the bad way too much – making a round-up like this is super helpeful, especially for those suffering from mental illness/depression 🙂 Great idea, Meggy!

  4. Well you just added to my happy moments with this post and telling me that there is a Frozen 2 on the way. Yay.
Love your pronunciation video, but still prefer the French or British accent. 😉
Great you have more work experience. Hope it’s really enjoyable.
For my happy wave back to you.
Lots of appreciation and praise during my appraisal at work.
Making further progress with communication with my pupils.
Finding out my colleague is getting kept on at work for another year.
Spending an hour a night watching a good but rubbish reality show that is back on. ( Love Island). 🙄. I know it’s rubbish but I enjoy watching and not having to concentrate 😀
Drinking a luxury coffee while thinking up these happy moments. 😁
Thank you Meggy. Hope you have a nice weekend.

    1. I was over the moon when I stumbled upon the trailer! I had no idea a second movie was even considered!
🙂 No one ever likes the American accent like I do, I forgive you, haha!
I’m really lucky to have people trusting me to work, it’s wonderful ❤
Brilliant! Congrats! I'm so happy that your appraisal went so well. It doesn't surprise me, you are a caring, loving, and amazing woman.
I think I watched Love Island once when I was in London last year! I'm going through the first season of Game of Thrones in French and the translation hurts!!!
Thank you so much for this uplifting comment ❤

  5. Your delivery guy sounds the best! Mine is superlazy and doesn’t even deliver to the door if the package is too big or he doesn’t feel like it. xD Yay for baking! And Iris is the cutest.<3 I would never consider taking my dog shopping though because he would end up destroying everything haha. Have a wonderful weekend! ❤ xx

    1. I did my best to find the little things that make a difference 🙂
Oh, thank you! I’ve been studying for months for my speaking to catch up with my reading and writing levels 🙂 Everyone disagrees with me about the American accent but I love it and it’s the one that comes naturally to me!
