Another Friday is here! Time to reflect on the past week!
Welcome to today’s Happy Friday! My remedy against feeling down is to make a list of all the good things in my life. It can be anything. Really, anything. The smallest gesture from a stranger can change your day, if you open your eyes. Now, I am a pessimistic and I need daily reminders to look for the bright side. Maybe you are too, or maybe the state of our world is weighing on you. In any case, here’s your shot at some happy things!
What has made me happy this week?
Beware, this post contains lots of bookish happiness!
- Waking up to a blue sky.
- Finishing my translating job. I’m quite proud of it!
- Not giving up despite everything going wrong.
- Seeing one of my reviews working well for the book and the author. There is no better reward than someone reading a book you recommended. I LOVE BEING A BOOK BLOGGER!
- Talking about this… Seeing the same recommendation being reviewed and the book praised by two bloggers I admire and have been following since I launched Chocolate’n’Waffles. Thank you so much, Cleo and Lorraine! I am so used to reading reviews and buying the books that I forget the other way around works too… Your shout-outs made my week 🥰
- Cooking. I made a really nice pizza (and forgot to take a pic because I was ravenous 🤣)
- People ready to help.
- Going for small walks. Baby steps, but steps nonetheless!
- The trust of wonderful people and new bookish projects to keep my professional side occupied and at the top of its game.
- Bookshelves cleaning!
- The smell of my night cream and going through the evening routine I created.
- Reading amazing books.
- Being invited to read books on NG instead of requesting them. It makes all the difference! I don’t get the guilt! 🤣
- A Friday Shelfie! Go shelf confidence! 😂
- Twitter.
I’m usually an optimist, but the news has me down a whole lot these days. Still, having a good book to read and interacting with others via these blogs and on bookish Facebook pages is what keeps me from getting depressed! And anything that can keep me from being depressed makes me happy!

I have stopped watching the news, I can’t take it. I agree and take comfort in books and the community to help fight the negativity! 🙂

Love this idea! (Also, love your glasses!) I had some really great phone calls with friends this week, which was so lovely ❤ I'm going to try to make a point to call people more rather than just texting them, I think! Happy Friday! 🙂

Thank you! I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 9 months old so I am very picky when it comes to choosing new ones, haha! I’m always awkward when I call people, even friends!

It looks like you found a lot of positives again this week. I still haven’t managed to join in with this but reading your post each week does make me take a few minutes to think back on my own week. I really appreciate that you remind me to think of the positives. Big hugs xx

I think I have to include waking up to a blue sky in my happy moments this week too. Summer is my most favourite season.
Well done for your steps 💛.
Other readers buying a book on your recommendation is brilliant. It makes being a bookblogger even better.
Love your shelfie and seeing all the books.
My positives this week are:
Trying a new meal from a local takeaway and really enjoying it. ( American hot dog in French baguette- delicious.
Chocolate- always.
Making a new crafty friend and swapping creations/ happymail.
Ordering and patiently waiting for an order of craft supplies from ali express.
And always – my pupils smiles.
Sending love and positivity your way Meggy
Amanda xx

I like summer when I can go out without sweating after thirty seconds haha! But a blue sky is always welcome 🙂
You’ve made me hungry with that hot dog!
It’s wonderful when you can share a hobby with friends, and even better when you make new friends thanks to it!
Thank you for sharing with me, fabulous Amanda. I hope this week is treating you well xxx
