Happy Friday!
I can’t believe that today the eighth positivity post is getting published! I definitely feel the joy every week when I write this article, and even every day, when I take pictures of what brings a smile to my face. I can only hope you enjoy this Friday break from all the stress and negativity as much as I do!
Welcome to today’s Happy Friday! My remedy against feeling down is to make a list of all the good things in my life. It can be anything. Really, anything. The smallest gesture from a stranger can change your day, if you open your eyes. Now, I am a pessimistic and I need daily reminders to look for the bright side. Maybe you are too, or maybe the state of our world is weighing on you. In any case, here’s your shot at some happy things!
What made me happy this week?
- Pushing myself and succeeding to read and review a book within 24 hours for a blog tour (I received the book the day before the review was due 😱) I’m too old, though. I need three days to recover!
- My weekly selfie because I received puzzled looks when I took it and couldn’t stop laughing. And it’s a no filter one!! (Okay, I’ll never get used to seeing my face taking a huge part of the screen!)
- Taking a long bath with false candles because BEWARE THE FIRE and music.
- Taking a moment during a walk to sit on the ground with the dogs to enjoy the present (Doesn’t Iris make the perfect model for a reflective-pose picture??)
- Eating cashews. Everyone always thinks of peanuts but few people remember the power of cashews!!!
- Taking my favorite pants out of the closet! From spring to fall, I wear this kind of pants to avoid the sun on my legs when I’m out, to travel because they’re handy and don’t take place, to stay home cos they’re comfy… In a nutshell, I wear them all the time!!! (and yes, I take most pics outside, where people wonder if I escaped the asylum!
- Managing to style my hair without running to my hairdresser because I suck at styling and my hair never agrees with me!
- Playing Scrabbles.
- Cuddling with mugs of tea every day (okay, several times a day…)
- Offering to bring the day’s newspaper to an elderly neighbor who can’t go buy it herself anymore.
- Visiting a flowers and plants store. So beautiful!
- Being quoted by a publisher with a beautiful visual about my favorite book of April!
- Posting my review of Perfect Crime at noon today…
♥️ These positive posts keep them coming 😘

She’s so cute with her pink harnass! Also those pants look really comfy! I have a fold-over top with the almost same print though, so weird :-). What makes me happy is your positivity wave on Friday, and the bookish gift I received from a lovely blog friend. Happy weekend Meggy!

I love this series so much! Sometimes life feels so busy that it’s so important to slow down and appreciate the simple pleasures.
My positive moment is a bit weird: I hurt my back on Monday/Tuesday, so I skipped work on Wednesday (which I literally NEVER DO). I treated myself to time on the couch to catch up on reading and took a lovely nap. There’s something about doing self-care when you really need it that’s so powerful.
Weird question: where did you get the boots in that photo? I’ve been trying to find a nice pair of boots for what feels like forever!

Thank you! This makes me extra motivated to keep this feature going, even if some weeks are harder than others ❤
Self-care is so important. I'm sorry you hurt yourself but it's great that you were finally able to take some time just for you.
Haha, not a weird question at all! The boots are from the brand Jonak, it took me a year to find them!

Sometimes having a regular time you set aside to reflect and find positivity can go a long way in combating depressive thoughts. I tried keeping a gratitude journal for a long time, but I feel like it go super repetitive. BUT I do think it made me more conscious of how I frame events that happen in life, so I’m more able to see the positive even in not-so-great situations.

Thank you 🙂 I noticed smiles make people happier (or think you’re gonna kill them) so I try to show mine! 🙂 I can’t help but add a pic of my dogs every week! Thanks for visiting! xx

I missed the quote of yours from Cara, that’s so cool. I love it when Authors enjoy your review so much they want to share it and use as publicity.
I love your hair in the first picture. I’m not so happy with the way my hairdresser cut mine the last time so need to do some experimenting to make it look better. 😊.
My happy moments of the week:
My pupils – they always are able to make me smile. A hug goodbye from him forgotten in a moment , for me appreciated for a long time.
I bought myself a bunch of yellow tulips which are beautiful.
Trying the new McDonald’s American burger in a bagel rather than a roll. Yum.
Happy weekend Meggy.
Amanda xx

Oh no! I’ve had so many disappointments with hairdressers that I wouldn’t exchange mine for the world!
I love that you’re so passionate about your work and you love your pupils so much!
Now I’m hungry! I want to go to McDonald!!
Have a wonderful week, my dear friend xxx
