Welcome to today’s Happy Friday! My remedy against feeling down is to make a list of all the good things in my life. It can be anything. Really, anything. The smallest gesture from a stranger can change your day, if you open your eyes. Now, I am a pessimistic and I need daily reminders to look for the bright side. Maybe you are too, or maybe the state of our world is weighing on you. In any case, here’s your shot at some happy things!
What made me happy this week?
- Window-shopping without buying anything!
- Resting time with Iris.
- Baking madeleines.
- More editorial work. This notebook contains all my little notes and precious experience for future jobs!
- Adding more veggies to my meals. Never thought I’d be happy about this…
- The warmth and kindness of a friend.
- TEA!!!!!!
- More good days than bad ones.
- Working at my coffee table turned desk (habit brought back from Japan!)
- The smell of rain.
- Imperfect selfie kept and shared, a proof that I’m finally done with judging myself harshly when it comes to looks. I just want reminders of happy days!
- Getting my new pairs of glasses.
- Lying on the floor trying to understand what the ceiling is showing me. Answer: lots of white!!!
- Turning shower time into a battle: me VS water. I won, I switched it off 😂 Okay, I did had a hard time because it kept changing temperature, but I was stronger!!!
- Did I mention tea?
- Yoga practice at 5am.
- Resuming building my English vocabulary. If you guys have a clever word you like, feel free to add it in the comments! 😁
Word of the week… petrichor. The smell of rain on dry ground after a long, dry period.

Interesting one! My mother thinks I’m crazy because I can smell rain before it comes, so I like that you chose a rainy word! Not sure I can subtly use it in a conversation, though! XD

❤ Thank you so much. It really took me ages to look at myself in pictures without cringing. I love my new sunglasses, I want sunny days just to be able to wear them (I hate the heat, haha)
I had been missing real English tea so I was over the moon to receive some and my poor mugs have been filled over and over since the package arrived!
I'm glad I'm not the one loving the smell of rain! There's something soothing about it!
Thank you for your wonderful comment and your kindness ❤

I love this post! I’ve been so bad at keeping up with blog reading lately but one of my positives for this week is that I saw that you’d started this series and it made me happy to see all the good things in your life this week. My positives are that my husband had the week off work and we got to spend lots of time together. We’ve spent most of the week shopping for a new car but it’s been fun and we’re so excited to choose a car soon. I will try to remember to join in with the positivity wave properly next week, it’s such a fab idea 🙂 x

Thanks for mentioning my package too, so pleased I am part of your happy time. I’m not so sure I like the smell of the rain, but rain on freshly cut grass perhaps.
Things that made me happy this week.
Sending a package to a friend and making her smile.
Getting a lovely message with my name in an American accent 😊
Chocolate!!
A long weekend started off with dinner out with my hubby.
Finding a new fun game with my pupil – spinning round and making him laugh 😊
