Book Reviews, Wrap-up

July Wrap-Up (yes, I’m late!)

I know what you’re thinking. It’s August 16th, what is wrong with her??? TIME is wrong! And as the goddess reigning on this blog, I decide that my July wrap-up should be published today!

(The truth is I was too busy to do it until now, haha!)

What’s New?

If you were around in July, you already know my plans changed and I left the UK before I was ready. I am still coming to terms with cutting short this amazing part of my life, and hoping I’ll be able to spend more time in London soon.

July was a challenge, both professionally and personally. I met my old demons again, dealt with too many doctors (not for me) and did my best to work and make my boss happy.

I was glad to see July end.

Books I read this month

Some books read for work are missing, but I am still happy with those 8 titles!

I can’t add stats as I don’t remember the numbers I was around when August started…

Books I reviewed

Days, Hours, Minutes: 29 Seconds by T. M. Logan @TMLoganAuthor @BonnierZaffre @CamillaWray @DA_Agency

What Goes On Under The Sun: Dead of Night by Michael Stanley #HappyPublicationDay @OrendaBooks @detectivekubu

Lazy Saturday Review: Rush of Blood by Mark Billingham @MarkBillingham @groveatlantic

I Will Not Recover from This One: #DoNoHarm by L. V. Hay @LucyVHayAuthor #BlogTour @OrendaBooks #RandomThingsTour @annecater

New Books (won, purchased, for review, whatever)

This is called celebrating your graduation 😂

The Book of the Month Award

Tough one! Half the novels I read in July could win this award…

But I’m going for…

Blogging time!

So, I’m hoping writing this wrap-up means I can take a step forward and leave what happened during this month in the past.

Here’s to what happened, what didn’t, and everything in between 🍸

See you in fifteen days for another wrap-up!!!

  1. Oh my word, what a cover on Overkill! Looking forward to reading Her Name was Rose and Thirteen this week. Hope you have a better month, that’s tough going. Take care x

  2. I hope the rest of August will beat July’s ass and leaves all the crap behind! At least you have a pile of books to help forget about the past… Along with chocolate and doggie hugs, they do help a little. 😉 Here’s to life treating you better! ❤ ❤ ❤

  3. So many wonderful reads on this post! I loved Her Name was Rose and The Retreat, I hope you will too. Overkill looks and sounds great. Happy August, Meggy and I hope that your loved one is feeling much better now x

  4. I’m sorry to hear July wasn’t all you wanted it to be! You did read some pretty amazing books though! The Chalk Man is still on my readlist and you listed another 9 books that I’m desperate to read ;-). I can’t wait for you to read Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough. I’m very curious to know how you’re going to feel about it.. if you think it’s too much and unbelievable or amazing 🙂

  5. Wow that is a lot of books obtained. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Thirteen. I love the cover of The Chalk Man, I don’t know what its about, but it looks good. I hope August is a good month for you.
    Amanda. xx
