Juliette loves Nate. She will follow him anywhere. She’s even become a flight attendant for his airline, so she can keep a closer eye on him.

They are meant to be.

The fact that Nate broke up with her six months ago means nothing. Because Juliette has a plan to win him back. She is the perfect girlfriend. And she’ll make sure no one stops her from getting exactly what she wants.

True love hurts, but Juliette knows it’s worth all the pain…

“Meant to be” has never meant so much than with this story.

Juliette set her eyes on Nate. Well, not only her eyes, but also her future and her life. Everything. I mean it. Everything. Yet, they are no longer together, but this is a detail, right?

A big one for me and you, a temporary situation for our perfect girlfriend. So perfect that she knows her man inside out.

If anyone ever doubted women could be dangerous, put this book into their hands and watch their reaction!

Juliette takes creepiness to the highest level. Never too close to lose advantage, but never far enough to let you out of sight. She follows Nate like my dog her favorite toy. Being inside her head was the most horrific and fantastic experience. No, I have never dreamed of being this kind of person! But being able to live the stalker life and read her thoughts each step of the way gave an even more acute and scary perspective on what was happening. The lengths she is willing to go to make Nate realize his mistake and see her as The One is insane. Completely and addictively mad. The author delves so deeply into every emotion that you can’t help feeling a connection. The characterization is frighteningly realistic and brilliantly used to make your heart miss a few beats in expectation of what is to come from and for all of them.

Something weird happened when I was reading. I can’t fathom why. Maybe it’s better if I don’t! I’ll blame the author’s mesmerizing writing. Juliette’s obsession became my obsession! I cancelled a meeting and refused to go groceries shopping because I simply had to go how far she would go, and by extension, how far I would go! I was fascinated by this character that never felt like a cliché, neither did her action seemed far-fetched. Well, they truly were, but at the time, I did understand her illogical logic, her need, so special, hungry and demanding. I was immersed in quicksand and I let my head be filled with a smothering and yet comforting narration of a woman with the strength to go get what she wanted. Even though what, or rather who she wanted did not really agree! Jealousy, pain, hope, I felt Juliette hold on to so many snippets of Nate that my heart broke for this broken heart and mind.

The Perfect girlfriend is the best read to remember to appreciate being single! Twisted and poisonous, Karen Hamilton’s story is subtle, unsettling, and absolutely perfect!

  1. This is the first time that I am hearing about this book and I love the sound of it! I have read a couple of stalker stories but never one where a woman is the stalker. I am so intrigued. Glad to see that you enjoyed this one so much! Great review!

  2. I’ll probably add this to my list. If you like this, you should read You by Caroline Kepnes and Our Kind of Cruelty by Araminta Hall. OKOC comes out in May but I had an ARC and i think it might be my favorite book of the year. SOOOO damn creepy.

  3. This sounds brilliant. I love it when you read a book about a character you know is doing the wrong thing but because the Author is so good you can understand why the character does and thinks the way they do. Sounds like an addictive read.
