The London Book Fair UK Book Blog Awards : All the Fun for Us, Internet People!

Last week, I was delighted to receive an email regarding this year’s London Book Fair. I probably won’t attend (99% chances!) but I am 100% behind their new initiative!

You probably already know as I have seen many friends posting the news, but this year, bloggers, bookstagrammers, and booktubers get to be rewarded for their passion! As they say…

The hunt to find the most influential book bloggers, bookstagrammers and booktubers is on!

London, 14 February 2017: The London Book Fair (LBF) is delighted to announce the launch of the first ever UK Book Blog Awards @ LBF – a new initiative designed to celebrate social media influencers and their important contribution to the book industry.

A new feature for LBF 2018, this will be the first time this community has been officially recognised and rewarded by the British publishing industry.

Bloggers, social media influencers, members of the publishing industry, and the general public are invited to nominate the best book blogs, bookstagrammers and booktubers across three categories:

·         Book Blogger of the Year

·         Bookstagrammer of the Year

·         BookTuber of the Year

Once the shortlist has been revealed, a panel of judges will select one winner in each category, who will be honoured at a special awards ceremony at The London Book Fair. In addition, the Fair will introduce new seminars and networking events aimed at bringing the social media influencer community closer to the publishing world.

The most shocking and exciting detail for me is that everyone get to enter as long as you spread the love for UK authors and stories! Hello all of us international bloggers! Okay, this makes my choice of nomination even harder, but I am so relieved not to see us excluded from such an event!

To nominate a blog, follow this link before March 2nd!

Good luck, everyone!

  1. Yay for international book bloggers. It is wonderful to see that the organizers opened up the nominations to include everyone. Off to nominate now. Thanks for sharing this Meggy. I have been seeing it around but didn’t pay attention since I thought its a UK only event.

  2. Haha! I saw this too and spent some time trying to think of who to nominate, but then realised I love too many book bloggers to choose between them. So everyone gets the FF Book Blogger of the Year Award… 😉

  3. I love that this award is happening. How fab to have us bookbloggers /vloggers recognised. Im looking forward to seeing the short list. I don’t envy the judges job though.
I wonder if international bloggers are included if they would have to arrange their own transport and accommodation. This would probably put some people off attending. Sounds like an amazing event though.

  4. Oh wow I love the sound of this, so thanks so much for bringing it to my attention! 😀 Despite living near London I never seem as aware of bookish/blogging things going on here, and I think it’s amazing how you can nominate anyone, even international bloggers, as long as they talk about UK books/authors!
    Great post Meggy. 🙂 ❤
