It is already that time of the month. April flew by and I don’t remember much of it.
BOOKS I BOUGHT
I am pretty sure this is the first time in ages that I buy more than a couple of books in a month. That’s part of the perks of being a book lover and a book blogger, I absolutely don’t feel guilty about spending our money on pages rather than on the rent. (Don’t worry, we paid the rent, too)
Passenger, Alexandra Bracken
This one was the book of the month for the Hype or Like Friday meme. I was hoping to get the paperback version because it was released earlier in early March but the Amazon delivery date made it difficult to read it and review before the deadline so I got the kindle version. The cover would have looked awesome on a bookcase.
If You Were Here, Alafair Burke
I really enjoyed The Ex and I’ve heard this one is even better so I can’t wait to read it.
The Death of Anyone, D.J. Swykert
This one was a surprise. I was comparing prices between Amazon US and Amazon France, randomly picking books from my wishlist, and we noticed a nice bargain on this book so hubby bought it before I could even say “okay.”
The Other Widow, Susan H. Crawford
I just loved the blurb and had to have it quick! I hope the story will be as good as I expect it to be.
What Pretty Girls Are Made Of, Lindsay Jill Roth
This one had been on my wishlist since it appeared on Megan Markle’s blog a lifetime ago. I’m excited to finally read it.
After The Lie, Kerry Fisher
Yesterday was the release date of Kerry Fisher’s book and the amazon bargain of 0,99 appeared on my screen. I knew I had to get it.
BOOKS I BORROWED
The lending program on Amazon is great. If you want to know more about it, read Jill’s post about how to share your books with your friends
I did not take into account the poor six books I returned to the library without opening them.
GIVEAWAYS
My first giveaway win! Thanks to Amanda @chocolatepages.wordpress.com for hosting it.
BOOKS I RECEIVED FOR REVIEW
The Reflections of Queen Snow White, David Meredith
I was contacted by the author to read and review this book. Like many stories read in March, this one does not belong to my usual genres, but the blurb is very promising and I cannot wait to discover the story.
Black Widow, Christopher Brookmyre (NetGalley)
During my first visit to NetGalley, I was attracted by the cover of this book. Later, I went back and read the blurb before shyly hitting the request button, thinking there was no chance I’d get it. Then I got it and danced in the living room. I hate dancing, so you can imagine how happy I was.
The Sister, Louise Jensen (NetGalley)
Another cover love pick. Another dance. Yep, first request accepted, I had to celebrate, right?
BOOKS READ IN APRIL
After You, Jojo Moyes : 2/5 Review here
The Ice Twins, S.K Tremayne: 5/5 Review here
Throne of Glass, Sarah J. Maas: 3/5 Review here
Passenger, Alexandra Bracken: 3/5 Review here
The Death of Lila Jane, Teresa Mummert: 2/5 Review here
The Maze Runner, James Dashner: 4/5 Review coming soon
I have no idea how some of you manage to read 10 or more books, I had to struggle to get to 6. But there were some great surprises and discoveries so it makes it okay. Quality over quantity, right? Also, I’m glad 4 reviews got published. Another one was supposed to be written but I fainted at work yesterday because of a virus so I’m low on energy and it got postponed. I have been writing this post for three hours, that says how slow I am today. I was so happy to be up-to-date with my reviews, the universe got its revenge.

We reached 100 followers and 500 likes in April, thank you very much everyone! π *sends a hug to every one of her followers*
That’s all for me, what did April look like for you? Let me know in the comment or leave a link to your wrap-up!
DO read Black Widow – it’s a deliciously twisted story, full of unreliable narrators. I bloody loved it, though I don’t know HOW to start a review! The best book I’ve read this year (so far!)

Wow, that makes me want to bump it up my TBR! I struggled so much to review The Ice Twins, it killed me! I loved the book but everything I tried to write could not faithfully describe what I felt while reading it. I hate when it happens, I always want to give the story the review it deserves but sometimes I feel the book has to talk for itself.

Hey congrats on your 100 followers. Thanks for linking me into this post from the giveaway.
I also read ‘The Death of Anyone’ by DJ Swykert. I wrote a review on it with Authors inspiration 2 weeks ago. The book is really good. I look forward to reading your thoughts on that book too.
Hope you feel better soon, fainting is not good, so rest up and get your energy back.
Amanda.

Thank you! I was not paying attention so reaching 100 came as a nice surprise.
I added The Death of Anyone after reading your review. The DNA matter intrigued me.
I am not leaving the couch. I have books and my favorite food, there’s nothing better to heal π

Great wrap-up post and congrats on your 100 followers and 500 likes! I like the look of quite a few of the books in your post so I’ll be looking out for those.
My monthly wrap-up post won’t be up until tomorrow (I lost track of the days this week! Haha!) but I do have my weekly wrap up here:

Great reading month! I only read 7 books last month, and at first I was so pleased but then I saw how much other bloggers read π
And congratulations on the 100 followers! That’s amazing.

I always feel a little jealousy when I read other people’s book counts! π I just don’t know how they do it.
The lending program is so handy. A friend of my is working on a website to gather readers willing to share their eBooks. Here is the link to her post about it https://rantandraveaboutbooks.com/2016/04/20/bloggers-i-need-your-input-what-do-you-think-about-an-ebook-lending-library/
There is an issue about country restrictions but with an US Amazon account, I was able to benefit from it. Now I need to buy a few books on it to share too.

I do too! But it’s okay π we have to remember that reading is not a competition.
Thank you so much for the link! It really is such a great idea. π I really programs like these.
